The Locksmiths Stall
Screen print on Somerset paper.
32cm x 25cm
Part of a series of work I made after visiting India.. This was a tiny stall in Bikaner, where, if you had a padlock, but no key, the man would adapt one of his keys to fit your lock. Likewise, if you had a key, but no padlock, he'd modify one of his padlocks to fit it. It was reusing and recycling on a tiny, yet really impressive scale and I loved the simplicity, yet complexity, of the idea.
