Market Stalls, Jaipur
Screen Print on Somerset paper
24cm x 38cm
A few years ago I visited India and fell in love with the colours, patterns, chaos and charm of the place. I loved the quiet temples, the busy markets, the painted havellis and decorated palaces. I made a lot of paintings and prints from my research when I returned, and am still using some of the information I gathered!
This print is of a small market stall in Jaipur, which is known as the Pink City due to the colour of the sandstone. I loved the decaying shop fronts and little dresses and the fact that there was such charm in the higgedly piggedly arrangement.
Please note that this is a handmade print and there may be slight variations in the edition. Each piece is unique!
