Screen Print on Somerset paper
38cm x 38cm
A few years ago I visited India and fell in love with the colours, patterns, chaos and charm of the place. I loved the quiet temples, the busy markets, the painted havellis and decorated palaces. I made a lot of paintings and prints from my research when I returned, and am still using some of the information I gathered!
This print is of a market in a street in Jaisalmer selling frames. There was no actual shop; instead the stall holder had pinned his wares to the wall of an ornate havelli, or Indian house. The golden sandstone juxtaposed with the wooden frames made a beautiful combination.
Please note that this is a handmade print and there may be slight variations in the edition. Each piece is unique!
