A few years ago I visited India and fell in love with the colours, patterns, chaos and charm of the place. I loved the quiet temples, the busy markets, the painted havellis and decorated palaces. I made a lot of paintings and prints from my research when I returned, and am still using some of the information I gathered!

I did several prints and paintings from inside the Amber Palace, just outside Jaipur. It was a beautiful sprawling palace with courtyards, fountains, arches and gateways. This image is from the entrance to the Shish Mahal, or palace of mirrors, which was an amazing space with windows overlooking the valley and the lake down towards Jaipur.
